Our family is the heart of the Almdorf Reiteralm. Two generations have already shaped this place together with love and dedication. We are constantly on the move and changing, but always remain rooted in the tradition and nature of our beautiful corner of the world.
The beginning of the Almdorf Reiteralm
Two brothers, one vision
The brothers Reinhold and Johann Unterkofler had a common idea: a year-round retreat in the mountains - at the recoveryThe focus is on spending time with your loved ones and maximum comfort. With a great understanding of nature and a lot of attention to detail, the first alpine huts were built in 2003, laying the foundation stone for our Almdorf Reiteralm. In 2006, 2012 and 2019, the Almdorf was expanded again and again, creating the vacation resort you know today.

A common path
We work with passion and commitment to make the Almdorf Reiteralm a special place. Hans and Reinhold are always supported by their better halves Helga and Erika. The younger generation - Hansi jun., Thomas, Markus, Lisa and their friend Daniel - also bring a breath of fresh air and innovative ideas. Each of us contributes in our own way to the further development of the Almdorf. Together we create a place where guests and employees feel at home and can experience unforgettable moments in the mountains.
Sustainable tradition
Connected with nature
Wood as a raw material has always had a special significance for us - our family has been working in the timber industry for three generations. This connection is reflected in every detail of our alpine huts and chalets, most of which have been built from wood we have harvested ourselves. In order to protect the environment, we have also built a wood chip heating plant that utilizes wood waste from our own forestry operation and supplies our alpine village with energy all year round.
